Studio Calico Cirque

  • Picture 1 of Cirque Scrapbook Kit

Isn't this kit beautiful? I was so excited to get it. I loved the girlie colors and modern feel. The gold glitter paper was my favorite. I used every last drop! So I have to admit when I first got this kit I struggled at first because it was different then a lot of things I've worked with in the past. I just kept working with it and layered some of the beautiful paper together and came up with this layout.

True

I couldn't be more in love with it. I love the bold black letters. I love the gold accents. I love the pop of pink! I love how the blue anchors it all together. It is a beautiful layout for a very beautiful little girl!

This and That

I love this Project Life layout. I wanted the colors to really pop, so I used some back and white pictures, which I normally don't do. I love the way it all came together. It was fun to add some confetti and hearts into one of the pockets. I love how this layout is clean and modern and beautiful. I love Studio Calico because the product is always so innovating.

Curious

My little Lydia is such a character. I love this page because it gives you a peek into her goofy, sweet, darling little personality. I lined up lots of word strips along the right hand-side and kept most of my embellishments along that side too. I love that this concept gave me lots of words to describe her.

I added these hearts on the other side to balance the layout out.

So I have a confession to make. I like to make multiple layouts with the same pictures. I know it sounds crazy, but there is a reason. I have my own personal scrapbook and I make scrapbooks for my kids too. So the above layout is for my book and this layout below if to put in Lydia's book. I love the idea of creating scrapbooks for my kids. I want them to be full of love notes and good memories. I blame my mom for this craziness, because she does the same thing! It'll be a great thing to give to them someday and then they can look back on their childhood with fond memories. Now that I'm in the habit of doing it, it doesn't take very long to copy the same idea into a second layout. Sometimes I get stuck if I don't have duplicates of product, but I've learned to simply used the same design concepts to duplicate a similar layout. They won't be exactly the same, but that's ok. Once I know what my design is going to be, I can duplicate it.

After making the yellow and blue layout, I didn't have the same papers, so I picked different papers, but I kept the design the same. I have a long vertical paper on the left hand side with some paper stripes for layers. I have the circles on the right with all the word stripes in a vertical column. My title and journaling cards are the same. The hearts are the same, even though they are different colors. The question I am dying to know the answer too, is which one do you like better?

Here are a few morn Project Life Spreads. This first one I went for a more subdued color scheme. I used blues, black and gold.

Then for this next one I go bold with color!

Together

T & J

I love this color combo. Black, white and gold are amazing together. I kept it simple and bold.

Isn't that glitter paper amazing?

Preschool

So I don't know if you all know, but I teach preschool. I love it. I love watching little kids learn and grow. I love when they start to get it and they feel so proud of themselves. It's wonderful. I also love doing art with kids! This art project was pretty epic. Dinosaur noodle art? yes please!

For this layout I kept it simple, but I wanted to use the heart stamp. I layered a peachy pink with grey.

This was such a wonderful kit I'm almost sad to see it go, but I'm happy I was able to turn the paper and embellishments into some beautiful memories recorded.
